About Saadani National Park

Saadani National Park in Tanzania is unique as the only place in East Africa where the beach meets the jungle. Its protected areas feature sandy beaches lined with palm trees and stunning views of the Indian Ocean, where elephants and other wildlife may pass by even as visitors relaxsts a rich variety of wildlife, including buffaloes, wildebeests, giraffes, elephants, lions, zebras, leopards, and crocodiles.

Established as a game reserve in the 1960s and expanded in 2002, Saadani has flourished in recent years thanks to intensified anti-poaching efforts. Today, the park’s lush greenery and unique coastal-jungle setting make it a highly attractive destination for Tanzania safari tours.

The main attraction of Saadani National Park is its exceptional coastal location, situated between Dar es Salaam and Tanga, just 200 km and 75 km away, respectively. Its hot, humid climate supports a diverse range of marine and terrestrial plants and animals. This unique blend of coastal and jungle ecosystems, along with the cultural richness of the area, makes Saadani National Park a truly remarkable and captivating destination. At Ngonzi Tours, we go beyond a safari—we create immersive experiences connecting you with nature while ensuring your comfort. Whether it’s your first safari or one of many, we guarantee memories that will last a lifetime.
