The Serengeti National Park is Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park, renowned worldwide for its annual Great Migration. Covering 14,750 square kilometers, the park features endless grassland plains, scattered kopjes, riverine forests, and woodlands. The ecosystem supports over 2 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras, and 300,000 Thomson's gazelles, along with the Big Five and numerous other species. The park's name comes from the Maasai word 'siringet', meaning endless plains.
